Louis-François Marcotte

At 17 years old, Louis-François Marcotte answered the call to his inner épicurien and turned to butchery at the ITHQ. There, he was named best in his class. Two years later, he started his own company: Simpléchic Traiteur. The following year, the restaurant Simpléchic in Verdun opened its doors.

At the age of 25, he opened Le Local, one of Montreal's most reputable restaurants.

Since 2006, he has hosted his own show, Le goût de Louis and now produces, Cuisiner comme Louis, both airing on Canal Vie. He also published four books: Simple et chic, Sexy : cuisine pour deux, Sauvage : savourer la nature, Souvenirs : revisiter nos traditions and Saisis : s'enflammer pour le BBQ.

In 2010, he opened his third restaurant in the popular district of Griffintown called Le Hangar and since December of 2012, those travelling to international destinations out of Montreal's Trudeau Airport can enjoy his food at the Cabine M bistro.

This summer, Louis-François Marcotte signs the menus for the dinner cruises aboard Old Montreal's Bateau-Mouche in collaboration with la Brigade volante.
